The adulation’s just keep on coming, KBB has named Mazda’s compact mini van the Mazda 5 one of the top 10 3-Row Vehicles Under $30,000. Here was their review

Minivan-wagons are cool. The new-for-2012 Mazda5 is doubly cool, especially because of its price, which comes out of the gate at around $20,000 and crosses the finish line, fully loaded, under $28,000. It’s not the roomiest or most powerful kid on the block, but the 6-passenger Mazda5’s got style — and cool — and a ton of value.

Review of the Mini-Minivan, Mazda 5

Meeting GeekDad’s List of Required items Wired reviews the Mazda 5:

• Seating for a family of five. Real seating (suitable for long drives).
• Safety. My family will be in this thing. Enough said.
• Fuel Economy. While it would be used as a family hauler on occasion, its primary purpose is daily commutes. While $4/gallon gas appears to be causing freakouts in the US, here in Canada, I’ve been paying $5 a gallon all year and that’s before the annual summer price spike.
• Compact enough for urban driving and parking; flexible enough to hold everyone when needed.
• Reasonably priced (ideally under $30k).

Mazda’s Sales Are Up, Come See Why

Mazda’s North American Operation’s reported that demand for the SUV’s CX-7 and CX-9 rose, U.S. Sales over all rose 9.1 percent. Here are some numbers to consider:

• In 2011 Mazda sold 250,426 vehicles, up from 229,566 in 2010
• Mazda3 sales rose nearly 3 percent in the month of December, and continues to be Mazda’s top seller
• Sales of the Mazda2 jumped to 13,952 in 2011
• Sales of the CX-7 rose 24 percent and CX-9 rose 19 percent
